Buyer's Guide to INFINITI Valves
How Do INFINITI Valves Work?
Valves move up and down inside your engine, opening and closing the combustion chamber. Intake valves control the flow of incoming fresh air ,while exhaust valves manage the flow of exiting exhaust gases.
The camshaft activates the valves, while the crankshaft powers the camshaft. That action, in turn, opens and closes the valves in sync with the motion of the engine pistons.
How To Spot Faulty Valves
Signs of trouble include:
- Reduced engine power
- Worsening fuel efficiency
- Consuming excessive oil
- Oil leaks
- Darker exhaust emissions
- You hear ticking sounds coming from the engine
- Your engine idles rougher than normal
- You notice oil on top of the valve cover after parking overnight
